Mountainside Medical Center is proud to announce that Catalina Dubon-Gutierrez, has joined the team as manager of Community Outreach. In this role, Catalina will be instrumental in sustaining the long-standing relationships that have been established with community stakeholders, local businesses, and other agencies. She will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of community initiatives as well as identifying new ways to bridge health disparities by providing services to our community.
Her enthusiasm for public health has been a driving force behind her professional development. She strongly believes that the most effective way to strengthen a community is to serve and equip it with the necessary tools and resources it needs to be successful. Catalina is eager to establish relationships with our community partners to develop and execute plans to better serve our community.
In her previous role, Catalina led an Infectious Disease preparedness team with the Clifton Health Department. She worked with several municipalities, state agencies, and faith-based organizations. Through these partnerships, she aligned strategies and used resources to provide consistent and comprehensive coverage to disproportionately impacted populations.
Catalina attended Montclair State University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Subsequently, she enrolled at The George Washington University, Washington D.C., where she received her Master of Public Health. Catalina is certified as a Health Education Specialist by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing and holds a certification in Adult Mental Health First Aid.
