MONTCLAIR, N.J., [January 2019] — Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center’s Stroke/Aneurysm Support Group invites affected patients and families to share their experiences and challenges within a supportive environment to learn valuable information to help one other. The group is led by Melissa Santoro, R.N., BSN, NVRN-BC, stroke coordinator.

“Having a stroke or aneurysm can be devastating. In today’s day and age, we are seeing more survivors due to medical advancements,” says Ahsan Sattar, M.D., director of Neuroendovascular Surgery at Mountainside Medical Center. Some of these patients are faced with a multitude of medical and mental challenges. A support group offers an environment where patients and their loved ones can connect with others who are experiencing the same challenges and struggles. Knowing and understanding that they are not alone can help in the healing process.

The Stroke/Aneurysm Support Group will be held on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the private dining room of the Mountainside Medical Center cafeteria. Registration is required.
