Our Breast Imaging Services
Our team of breast health specialists includes nurses and technologists with specialized training and certifications in mammography, oncology, and other relevant disciplines. Using advanced technology, we provide the following breast cancer screening services:
- 3D mammography
- Breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Breast ultrasound
- Digital mammography
- Genetic testing and counseling for patients with a family history of cancer
- Minimally invasive, image-guided alternatives to surgical biopsies
- Needle localizations
- MRI-guided biopsies
- Stereotactic, ultrasound-guided biopsies
Our Breast Center is a full-service mammography facility approved by the Federal Drug Administration and accredited by the American College of Radiology. We are proud to now offer 3D mammography at this location, in addition to all of our other breast imaging services.
For decades doctors have been searching for a technology to help them find very small cancers or rule out “false positives” and reduce the number of women who are called back for a diagnostic mammogram. With 3D Mammography, the radiologist can see breast tissue detail in a way never before possible. Instead of viewing all the complexities of your breast tissue in a flat image, the doctor can examine the tissue a millimeter at a time. Fine details are more clearly visible, no longer hidden by the tissue above and below.
3D Mammography may be used in conjunction with traditional digital mammography as part of your annual screening mammogram to capture more breast images. Please call us to schedule a 3D mammogram appointment or any other test at our breast health center.

Breast Cancer Care
We understand the stress and anxiety surrounding concern regarding breast cancer and make every effort to explain findings as comprehensively and quickly as possible. Should you receive a positive breast cancer diagnosis, our oncology team will provide compassionate breast cancer treatments tailored to your unique needs.
Our goal is to offer services that are convenient and accessible while setting an unmatched standard of excellence. Our accreditations include
- Accreditation by the American College of Radiologists
- Accredited with commendation by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer, a designation awarded to only about one-fourth of all hospitals that provide cancer care nationwide
- The American College of Surgeons for the Cancer Center
- The College of American Pathologists for laboratory services
- The Federal Drug Administration’s Mammography Quality Standards Act
Our multidisciplinary team of specialists collaboratively evaluate every case referred to the Cancer Center and establish the best possible treatment plan. A specially trained nurse, known as a Patient Navigator, is assigned to work with patients and their loved ones from diagnosis through the completion of treatment to minimize stress and ensure that all needs are met. Access to emerging treatments and clinical trials is provided, when appropriate, via a special partnership with the Cancer Institute of New Jersey
Breast Cancer Surgery
Our surgical approach to breast cancer is to make screening, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations based on current and medical evidence. Recommendations are based on known results and current national guidelines. We know that knowledge can ease fear, which is why our patients are given options for care and the information needed to make meaningful treatment decisions. Breast conservation whenever possible is our current standard of care.
Our surgical team is skilled at performing the most effective procedures to treat benign and malignant breast conditions, including:
- Advanced onco-plastic procedures and nipple sparing mastectomies
- Immediate reconstructive plastic surgery following mastectomy
- Lumpectomy and other breast conservation therapies
- Ultrasound and stereotactic breast biopsy
Our surgeons communicate directly with primary physicians, radiologists, medical oncologists, plastic surgeons and radiation oncologists to coordinate the best treatment plan for each patient. Your team of physicians and support staff will navigate your care, and upon completion of treatment, our survivorship program ensures the patient has a comprehensive summary of your treatment and a plan for follow-up care.
Risk Reduction Program
If you have a family history of breast cancer or you’ve had an abnormal biopsy, you may be concerned about developing cancer. However, your risk may actually be lower than you think. In fact, the vast majority of women who fall into those categories are able to achieve greater clarity and peace of mind by seeking risk and genetic testing.
An oral rinse or blood test is all that’s needed to conduct BRCA genetic testing. This test is important because:
- BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes are known as tumor suppressors and mutation of those genes has been linked to hereditary breast and ovarian cancer.
- A woman’s risk of developing breast and/or ovarian cancer is increased if she inherits a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation. (Men with these mutations also have an increased breast cancer risk.)
If a harmful BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation is detected, there are several options available to help manage cancer risk and they will be clearly explained in one-on-one discussions. A personalized preventive and early intervention plan will be developed in consultation with our multidisciplinary team of experts.
