Betty exemplifies the spirit of compassionate care in every interaction. Always friendly, approachable, and attentive, she goes above and beyond to ensure patients feel valued and supported. Her dedication is especially evident on 6 East, where she assists patients with their meals while consistently demonstrating warmth and kindness.
Recently, Betty’s thoughtfulness made a meaningful difference for one of our patients who was facing her second surgery in four days, coinciding with her daughter’s sixteenth birthday. Recognizing the disappointment this could cause, Betty arranged a small cake and joined in celebrating the special day with the patient and her daughter. Her genuine care not only brought joy to the moment but also helped ease the patient’s concern about missing such an important occasion.
Betty’s natural commitment to putting people first, her empathy, and her thoughtful approach to patient care truly embody Mountainside Medical Center’s mission. We are honored to recognize her as this month’s Care Award winner.
